Do you know the key technologies of air source heat pump? (Part 1)

When it comes to the working principle of air source heat pump, it is necessary to mention these key words: refrigerant, evaporator, compressor, condenser, heat exchanger, expansion valve, etc., which are the key components of the heat pump unit. Here we briefly introduce several key technologies of air source heat pump.

Refrigerants are no stranger to us. The most common is freon, which was once associated with the destruction of the ozone layer. The role of refrigerant is to absorb and release heat through the transformation of its own physical characteristics in a closed system. At present, in the air source heat pump unit, the most common refrigerant is R22, R410A, R134a, R407C. The selection of refrigerants is non-toxic, non explosive, non corrosive to metal and non-metal, with high latent heat of evaporation and harmless to the environment.

The compressor is the “heart” of the heat pump unit. The ideal heat pump compressor can operate stably in the cold environment with the lowest temperature of – 25 ℃, and can provide 55 ℃ or even 60 ℃ hot water in winter. In terms of the performance of the reaction compressor, the technology of increasing Enthalpy by jet has to be mentioned. When the ambient temperature is lower than – 10 ℃, the ordinary air source heat pump water heater is difficult to operate normally. Low temperature operation has a great influence on the operation efficiency of water heater, and it is easy to damage the components of water heater. Under low temperature conditions, the increase of compression ratio and suction specific volume will lead to high exhaust temperature, reduced heating capacity, reduced coefficient of performance, and even compressor damage. Therefore, for the operation of low temperature conditions, we can add air to increase enthalpy and double-stage compression in the operation system of heat pump water heater to improve the operation efficiency of the system.
